Building your app is just the beginning. Once your project is live, Famous.ai gives you two flexible ways to make edits—through the AI chat or directly on the canvas.

Step 1: Access Your Project Through the Dashboard

Start by heading to your Dashboard.

  • Click on your name in the top-right corner of the Famous.ai homepage.

  • Find the project you want to edit in your library and click View.

  • This opens the Famous.ai canvas, which is your primary editing workspace.

Step 2: Get Familiar With the Canvas

The editing screen is split into two main areas to help you work efficiently:

  • The Left Side (Conversation Panel): This is where you chat with the Famous.ai agent to send edit instructions.

  • The Right Side (Live Preview): This displays a live version of your app or website that updates in real time as changes are made.

Step 3: Edit Through the AI Chat

The most powerful way to make edits is to describe what you want in the chat. You can request changes to layouts, colors, copy, or functionality.

Be Clear and Specific

Vague instructions like "make it look better" lead to guesswork. Use direct prompts such as:

  • "Change the hero headline to: 'The Fastest Way to Launch Your Business Online.'"

  • "Replace the current font with something more modern and clean—similar to Inter or Poppins."

Name the Page and Section First

Always specify the location before describing the change. Instead of saying "make the background red," try:

  • "On the homepage, in the testimonials section, change the background color to red."

Upload a Screenshot for Clarity

The chat supports image uploads. If an edit is hard to describe, click the image icon to upload a reference or a screenshot of the specific element you want changed.

Step 4: Edit Manually With the "Edit" Button

For minor text refinements, use the manual editing mode:

  • Locate the Edit button above the preview window.

  • Clicking this allows you to type directly into the canvas to fix typos or update wording without using a prompt.

  • This is perfect for quick color tweaks or small text changes.

The Best Approach: Combine Both Methods

The most efficient workflow is to let the AI handle the "heavy lifting"—like building new sections or structural changes—while using the manual Edit button for finishing touches and small copy updates.

If a change doesn't work out, you never have to worry about permanent mistakes; you can safely return to a previous working state.

To roll back your site:

  1. Open the Chat: Navigate to the chat panel inside your project.

  2. Find Checkpoints: Scroll up through your chat history with the AI to find the automatically created checkpoints.

  3. Reverse the Change: Click the Rollback button on the specific checkpoint you want to reverse to restore that version of the project.
