Famous.ai gives you several flexible ways to add and manage all types of media assets—images, videos, audio files, and PDFs. Here is how to handle each one.
Images
There are three ways to add or update images on your Famous.ai project, depending on what you need.
Option 1: Prompt Famous.ai to Generate the Image
If you do not have an image ready, you can ask Famous.ai to create one for you directly. Simply describe what you want in the chat, and Famous.ai will generate and place it in your project. This is the fastest option when you need something created from scratch.
Example Prompts:
"Change the hero section image with a simple vase with an arranged bouquet on a white table."
"Add a professional hero image to the top of the homepage showing a modern office environment with warm, natural lighting."
Option 2: Swap an Image Using the Visual Editor
If your project already has an image in place and you simply want to replace it, you can do so directly through the visual editor without typing a single prompt!
Click the Edit button above your project preview in the canvas.
Locate the image you want to replace and click on it.
Use the image editor menu to swap it out directly.
Option 3: Upload Your Own Image Through the Chat
If you have your own image ready, you can upload it directly into the Famous.ai chat and tell the AI exactly where to place it. Just attach the image file in the chat alongside your instructions!
Example Prompt: "I am uploading our new product photo. Please replace the image in the Features section on the homepage with this one."
💡 Pro-Tip: Always Add Alt Text. Whichever method you use to add images, always remember to add alt text. Alt text helps visually impaired users who rely on screen readers, and it helps search engines index your content correctly (which is great for SEO!).
Prompt to use: "Add the following alt text to the hero image on the homepage: 'A professional team collaborating in a bright, modern office space.'"
Videos
Embedding video on Famous.ai is straightforward, but there is a best practice workflow that will save you time and produce the cleanest result.
Create a Video Placeholder First: Before linking your video, prompt Famous.ai to add a video player placeholder. This ensures the page layout is set up correctly.
Prompt:
"Add a video player placeholder in the hero section of the homepage. It should be centered, full width, and have a play button in the middle."
Upload Your Video to YouTube or Vimeo: Famous.ai embeds videos from external hosting platforms rather than hosting them directly. Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and make sure the visibility is set to Public or Unlisted.
Embed the Video Using a Prompt: Once your video is uploaded, copy the share link and paste it into the chat.
Prompt:
"Embed this link in the video player in the hero section. When I click the play button, the video should play: [Insert your link here]"
PDFs and Downloadable Files
Adding a downloadable file—like a lead magnet, pricing guide, or menu—is simple. Since files cannot be hosted directly inside Famous.ai, you just need to link to them.
Upload your PDF to Google Drive (or another file host).
Right-click the file and ensure the sharing permission is set to "Anyone with the link."
Copy the shareable link.
In the Famous.ai chat, tell the AI where the download button should link.
Audio
Adding an audio player or sound sample requires a slightly different approach, since Famous.ai does not host audio files directly.
Upload Your Audio to a Hosting Platform: Upload your audio file to Dropbox or Google Drive. Make sure to set the sharing permissions to Public or Anyone with the link.
Embed the Audio Player Using a Prompt: Once you have your shareable link, paste it into the chat with instructions on where to put it.
Prompt:
"Add an audio player to the podcast section of the homepage and embed this link. When I click the play button, the audio should play: [Insert your link here]"
A Few Final Tips for Managing Media
Test everything: Click every play button, download link, and image swap to confirm it works as expected before publishing.
Use high-quality files: Low-resolution images and compressed audio will undermine the professional feel of your site.
Keep file sizes reasonable: Large image files can slow down your page load speed. Aim for images under 1MB where possible.
Label your media clearly: When you upload a file in the chat, mention its name or purpose so Famous.ai can reference it accurately.
Media is what gives your Famous.ai project personality, depth, and impact. Add your media, test it thoroughly, and watch your project come to life!
