How to Revert or Roll Back to a Previous Build in Famous.ai
Sometimes a prompt takes your project in a direction you didn't expect, or you simply realize you liked an earlier version better. Famous.ai makes it easy to "undo" these changes using the rollback feature.
Step 1: Accessing Your Projects from the Dashboard
Before you can edit or revert a build, you need to locate your project within your account:
Navigate to the Dashboard: After logging in, click on your profile image or name in the top right corner and select Dashboard.
Project Library: This central hub displays all the websites, mobile apps, and crypto projects you have created.
Open Your Project: Simply click on the project card you wish to work on to open the full build interface and chat history.
Step 2: Reviewing and Rolling Back Versions
Famous.ai automatically saves every past version of your project linearly as you prompt. You can go back to any previous state at any time to review it before your current edits or to perform a full rollback.
The Golden Rule: To undo a specific change, look for the Rollback button in the checkpoints located directly above the prompt you just implemented in the chat panel.
Review Before Edits: You can scroll through your chat history to see exactly how the project looked at each stage of development.
Implement the Rollback: Clicking the button above a specific prompt tells the system to discard that instruction and everything following it, returning the project to that exact state almost instantaneously.
Step 3: Update Your Published Version
Rolling back the build in your editor changes your "work-in-progress" version. To ensure your live users see the reverted version:
Preview the Change: Review the rolled-back version in the sandbox to ensure it is exactly what you want.
Publish: Click the Publish button in the top right corner again. This refreshes the build and ensures the reverted version is the one currently active and ready for the world to see.
Important: Proceed with Caution
While the ability to roll back at any time is a powerful safety net, keep these points in mind:
Verify Placement: Always double-check that the button you are clicking is directly above the prompt you wish to "undo."
Check Your Work: Always review the project state after a rollback to confirm you haven't accidentally removed an edit you intended to keep.
