If you are building a native mobile application specifically meant for the Apple App Store or Google Play, the preview process is a bit different from a website, so that you can test it on an actual phone.
Here is exactly how to get your app running on your physical device for testing:
Step 1: Open Your Project
Log in: Navigate to the Famous.ai platform in your browser.
Open the Menu: Click on your profile image located in the top-right corner of the screen.
Go to your Dashboard: Select Dashboard from the dropdown menu.
Open the Build: Click View on the specific mobile app project you want to test to open it in the builder.
Step 2: Locate the Device Button
First, open your project in the builder canvas. Locate and click the Device button in the top right corner of your Famous.ai dashboard.
Step 3: Download Expo Go
Next, you will need a testing environment on your phone. Download the free Expo Go app onto your personal mobile device. It is available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Step 3: Generate the App Preview
Finally, click Generate app preview in Famous.ai. This will generate a connection (usually a QR code) that links your Famous.ai project to the Expo Go app.
Simply scan it with your phone, and you will be able to play around with your newly built mobile app directly on your physical device, feeling the exact swiping and tapping experience your future users will have!
Once you have your Expo Go setup complete, you are ready to have your family, friends or your business partner download the app and test your project.
