Here is the step-by-step guide to setting up your live chat widget.
1. Accessing the Deal.ai Support Chat App
To get started, you need to open the communication tools inside your workspace.
Log into your main Deal.ai home screen.
Locate and click on the Support Chat app. The goal of this app is to give you a direct line of communication with your website traffic.
2. Creating Your Deal.ai Chat Widget
Now you need to generate a new widget for your site.
Inside the app, click the button to create a new chatbot widget.
Give it a descriptive name. This internal name helps you easily identify which website or department the chat belongs to later in your Deal.ai dashboard.
3. Configuring Your Deal.ai Site Settings
Next, you must tell the system where this chat widget will live.
Click the gear icon next to your new chatbot's name to open its settings menu.
Inside the Deal.ai settings panel, enter your official Site Name and the exact URL where the chat widget will be hosted.
4. Customizing Your Deal.ai Chat Experience
In the Chatbot Settings menu, you can customize the tool to match your brand perfectly:
Greeting Message: Edit the initial text that your visitors will see when they click to open the Deal.ai chat window.
Data Collection: Choose how the widget collects user information (such as requiring an email address before chatting) so you can easily follow up with them later.
Appearance: Change the display colors and the public name of the chatbot to seamlessly fit your website's design.
5. Installing the Deal.ai Widget on Your Website
To make the chat live to the public, you need to copy the provided Deal.ai code snippet and paste it into your website's header or body. Here is how to do it on the most common website platforms:
